Peter: Our first straps were made of leather. Aletta: Later we had a few models with metal bracelets. We learned the hard way because we had initially worked in an uncoordinated way. We should have given the same sketches to both the casemakers and the braceletmakers. That would have kept production closely interlinked. Our failure to do so meant that the first bracelets didn't quite fit their intended watches. We had to take the bracelets into our own hands and postprocess them to complete the wristwatches.
