Since 1998, we have been owners of a Boesch 650 Cabriolet Runabout, and we have also been members of the SocietŽ Nautique, de genve (SNg), the geneva yacht club. The organizer of the HŽlice Nautique, an event honouring runabouts and organized by the SNg, asked Frederique Constant to became the Official Timekeeper of this event. The HŽlice Nautique brings together many of the remaining Runabout yachts on Lake geneva, yachts that today, as in their heyday, symbolise elegance, sophistication and ageless design. Hence, 2009 saw the introduction of the limited edition “Runabout” watch series from Frederique Constant, designed to celebrate the brand's involvement in the annual HŽlice Classique. An elegant duo of automatic chronographs was created with a design perfectly adapted to the fascinating and nostalgic, teakwooden luxurious motor yachts of the 1920's. In solid steel or plated with rose gold, the rounded case with a diameter of 43 mm is handpolished and exposes a finely decorated dial with a ÇPavŽ de ParisÈ guillochŽ decoration. The applied and polished indexes, following the material used for the case, guarantee clear readability. As a delicate hint to the maritime theme, a boat's propeller is engraved on the case back and a “porthole” offers a glimpse of the movement. To emphasize on the special value of this timepiece, it is delivered in a gift box that contains a miniature duplicate of a legendary “Runabout” yacht. (1) In later years, Frederique Constant also became the Official Sponsor of the 39th and 40th annual Lake Tahoe Concours d'Elegance Wooden Boat Show, held on the north shore of Lake Tahoe in Carnelian Bay, California, USA. New versions of the bestselling collection were introduced, including the Runabout Automatic, the Runabout Power Reserve and the Runabout Moonphase. Each Frederique Constant Runabout is limited to 1888 pieces and delivered with a miniature runabout model. No Fields Found.
